I'm trying to find any information on my ancester, Thomas Bradbury, who emigrated to New Jersy, US, about 1740, possible from the area of Devon, England. He and a brother came to see what colonial life was like, Thomas stayed and his brother returned home. The grandshildren of Thomas' oldest son, Hezekiah, moved back to Devon, and located in Bradworthy. Any help on Thomas' origins would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi I am still having problems with my family tree. My father William Henry Bradbury was last known to be at the Nowra Hotel in NSW Australia in 1946. He was looking for a job as instructor at a riding school. He had just left the Navy where his job was a cook. Would love to find out what happened to him, or if he remarried and I might have some brothers or sisters out there. Please get in touch. I am not getting any younger and would love to finish my family tree. Merry Christmas to Bradbury's everywhere.

I have just started doing my family tree. My Great Grandmother was Alice May Bradbury, born 1897 in Walsall, Staffordshire, England to Samuel (born 1860 also Wallsall) and Annie Bradbury. Samuel is the son of George (born 1828 Walsall) and Cisila Bradbury. That is as far as I have been able to get so far. Does anyone else have these people in their tree and can help me?

I am looking for the children of Lawrence and Margaret "Helen" Bradbury. Lawrence was known as Brad when he lived in the St. Helen's area of Lancashire. Married Margaret Briggs and went to live in Australia in the mid 1950s. They had 3 or 4 children, Giles, John and I'm afraid that I cannot remember the names of the other children but one is a girl for sure as she visited my family in Accrington, Lancashire many years ago. One of the boys is married to Rosa. My father was Margaret's only sibling and I'm attempting to take a stab at the family tree. I need help from the Bradbury side in Australia. Just recently I saw an ancestry.com file that shows a large Bradbury family in that area, so am thinking there must be other Minnesota Bradbury's out there, somewhere :-) I am especially hoping to find family narrative and or stories about this family. Seeking any descendants of Jabez BRADBURY born about 1838/40 who arrived in New Zealand in 1865 where he married Elizabeth HYDE (who emigrated from Lancashire 2 years earlier). They settled in Wellington and had the following children- my great grandfather John -born 14 July 1867, Margaret , Mary (married William Walter KENNEDY ) Sarah (who married Robert GOODIN) and William BRADBURY. Jabez died in 1894 when William was about 19 so he was the youngest I think. Elizabeth died in about 1913. Some of Elizabeth's family also emigrated to Wellington and ran a bookshop (Hyde's Bookshop) in Petone for many years. Would be very grateful for any information on any of these people or anything to help trace where Jabez and his family were from or what happened to the siblings of John Bradbury. Hope this means something to one of you!

Hello from a fellow Bradbury. I always thought i had a brilliant surname, and there are many of us about it would seem! I'm 19 years of age, living in Scotland... my dad is Chris Bradbury... and he's been keeping up the Bradbury numbers... i have 9 brothers and sisters. His Father was Arthur Bradbury who sadly passed away in 2003. My uncles are Andrew Bradbury, Ian Bradbury & Terry Bradbury. This site is great.... somebody stole the URL www.aaronbradbury.com which caused me great upset.... ok, so maybe it didn't... If any of you Bradburys wish to include me in your wills.... then go for it, i respect you all for who you are, and all you stand for!

Hello to the Bradbury family. Can anyone tell me if there are any Bradbury/Green marriages in the family tree? My ggrandfather, Thomas Green, emigrated from Selston, Notts in 1867 to Pennsylvania, USA. His wife's name was Hannah, but I've been unable to find her maiden name. They lived in a small PA town & a Bradbury family were their neighbors. Upon reflection, my father visited with the Bradbury neighbors quite often but I was never aware of a family relationship. Does anyone know if a Bradbury family lived in Selston, Notts in the 1860s? As you can see, I'm running down even the tiniest clue in my search for ggrandmother ? Green's maiden name. Thanks in advance for any information whatsoever.

Hello! After much research and several postings I have had some success finding information on the Simeon and Annie Googins Bradbury family from MA / ME in the early to mid 1800s. However, I am still looking for information regarding Frances E. Bradbury Varney Fowler's birth and marriage to John Varney. Their daughter, Georgi, was born April 1856 in Quebec. When John died in April 1860 Frances and Georgi moved to Minnesota and she married David W. Fowler. I have not found any information on John - their marriage or his death - would love any suggestions for research! Frances' sister, Mary Augusta, married a Sterling HOpkins in 1849, perhaps in San Francsico. I have not found any information on her at all. I believe Mary and Frances, and thier brother, Daniel, were born in Calais, Maine. I do have a marriage record for Olive giving her place of birth as Calais. Any information / suggestions would be most appreciated! Thanks - Sue

l have started to trace my ancestors on the male side of my great-great-grandfather (Thomas Bradbury (1800’s – dates unknown) , who lived near Longnor, Staffordshire, England. The following gives the information that I know, and I wonder if anybody can help me with any assistance or advice: A complete family-tree from one of his sons, Daniel – my great-grandfather, who I think was born at Longnor - is up-to-date from 1851. In 1993 we visited where Thomas used to live – The Ferns (sometimes spelt Fearns), Reapsmoor, Nr Longnor, Staffordshire (postal district Derbyshire). The occupiers, who welcomed us, gave us a copy of a two-generation family-tree of one of Thomas’s sons – John. This family-tree had been left there by previous visitors, unknown, searching their side of the family. From this document, and some “in memoriam cards” that have been handed down, we understand that Thomas Bradbury had seven children (order of which is uncertain): John, of the Ferns, ( Died 10th April 1881 aged 39, interred at Longnor) whose family tree was the one that were were given: (Married to Elizabeth “Betty” whose children were: William, Nancy, Thomas, James Henry, Martha, Daniel, John and Sampson), -William, (possibly the William Bradbury of Blackshaw Moor who married Dorothy who died 17th August 1907 aged 65, interred in Leek), -Thomas (probably the same Thomas who married Mary Ann and died 11th November 1906 aged 60, interred at Sutton-in-Ashfield), -Daniel, my great-grandfather (28th Sept 1851 to 3rd Dec 1931, interred in Horton), -Mary (Died 25th June 1885 aged 25, who was a servant of a Robert Bradbury- unknown - of Brown’s Pit (sic) near Longnor, interred at Longnor), -Esther, and -Jane We also have a memoriam card to a Sarah Ann (31st August 1864 to 20th August 1900), interred at Longnor in grave number 137, who was married to another Daniel Bradbury of Brownspit (sic), – both unknown. From current Ordnance Survey maps Brownspit is the spelling in use, rather than the Brown’s Pit used on the 1885 memorial card. Also, from our earlier visit to Longnor I am aware that Bradburys still live in the surrounding district.

Hi to all the Bradburys and Bradbury descendants out there. I would like to thank John Bradbury for steering me to this great site and all the help he gave me to knock out some bricks in the Wall! I am looking for information on a John Bradbury born approximately 1770, and married to Elizabeth. They had a son John, born born 1795 and christened 14 May1798 at St. Andrews Church, Holborn London. This John married Martha Clark 27 April 1813 at St. Lukes, Old Street, Finsbury London. From then on, this branch lived in the London & Birmingham areas where they were printers and engine fitters. If there is anyone there who can shed any light on John Bradbury of the 1770 (approx)birth year and his wife Elizabeth, I would be very grateful. This line goes back through my maternal grandfather whose mother was Sarah Jane Bradbury. TIA John Fisher Australia

Here is a link to information on some of the earliest Bradbury's to live in North America - in Bay Roberts, Newfoundland, Canada.

I will also post specific links within the site in the event that the main sites becomes inactive.

It is interesting to note that many Newfoundland families moved to places in the US and Canada over the years. The other connection is to Great Britian, the source of the Bradbury families who came to Newfoundland hundreds of years ago. For those looking for connection in this regard, Newfoundland is a key link between many Bradbury families in North America and Great Britian.

Virginia 1810, lived in Weakley Co., Tennessee from before 1840 until after 1850, and lived in Greene Co., Arkansas from before 1860 until after 1870. He married Sarah Anne McClure, b. North Carolina ca 1820. They had one known child, George McClure Bradberry, b. 1846 in Tennessee. John was a farmer, and both he and Sarah Anne were illiterate. John's middle initial appears to be "A", possibly for "Adams"(?). I would like to find John's parents.
